How to find your appliance's model number

You need the model number to order a part, find a manual or check a recall. It is almost always on a small silver or white label. Where to look:

• Refrigerator: inside the fresh-food compartment on the side wall or ceiling, or behind the bottom grille.
• Washer: inside the door frame, on the back panel, or under the lid.
• Dryer: inside the door opening or along the door edge.
• Dishwasher: along the inside edge of the door or the tub frame.
• Water heater: on the label on the side of the tank.
• Furnace / air handler: inside the service panel door.

Tip: take a clear photo of the label now so you never crawl behind the machine again.
